Ophthalmic Tech Specialist, the Lead Ophthalmic Tech Specialist
provides direction and education to staff at assigned location.This
jobs serves as a role model and subject matter expert for all
technical questions regarding ophthalmic procedures and
techniques.This job is responsible for all regulatory activities at
assigned location and performs duties of the Ophthalmic
Technician/Technologist as necessary.Job DescriptionLicensure,
Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Joint
Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
certification at least at the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
levelLicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for
continued employment:CPRMust obtain Certified Ophthalmic Technician
(COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Technologist (COMT) within 18 months
of hire.Experience REQUIRED:5 years of experienceExperience
PREFERRED:10 years' experience and experience in academic medical
environment preferredEducation/training REQUIRED:High School /
GEDEducation/training PREFERRED:Bachelor's Degree in Health Science
