  • As a Patient Safety Coordinator Registered Nurse RN you will oversee patient safety activities with the objective of enhancing and promoting patient safety and quality care.
  • You will manage and analyze close calls and adverse patient events, conduct educational programs, lead clinical initiatives, and comply with regulatory standards.
  • In this role you will collaborate in the annual review/revision of the organization's Patient Safety Program Plan, with responsibility for operationalizing the program.
  • Along with other clinical disciplines-medical staff, clinical staff, quality management, infection prevention, and risk management - you will participate in patient safety activities and act as a resource, internal consultant, and educator for patient safety issues.
  • You will participate in RCA (Root Cause Analysis), FMEA (Failure Mode and Event Analysis), lead investigations for serious adverse events, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • When dealing with hospital staff, leadership, co-workers, patients, visitors and other customers, you will maintain cultural and diversity awareness.What qualifications you will need:
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN (MSN preferred).
    • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
    • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred.
    • 4 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. -
    • Knowledge of CMS, TJC, ISMP, NPSF, Leapfrog, IHI and other patient care related initiatives to improve outcomes.
