Current HCA employees do not qualify. -***Job Summary and QualificationsWe are seeking a highly-skilled and compassionate RN to deliver exceptional nursing care to patients in the Med Neuro unit. In this role you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients who have recently been in the emergency department, same day surgery, angioplasty or interventional radiology units.   • As a Registered Nurse you will be part of the clinical team making critical decisions around whether to hold our patients, administer additional tests or retain for observation, transfer them to one of our inpatient units, or discharge them.
  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers and patient care staff, you will administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the facility.
  • During every shift you will monitor, record and communicate patient conditions utilizing our computerized documentation systems.
  • As a part of the clinical decision team, you will coordinate patient discharge planning needs, if appropriate, with members of the healthcare team, and participate in patient/family education.
  • When dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers, you will maintain cultural and diversity awareness, and much more. What qualifications you will need:
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
    • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
    • 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date is comprised of Chippenham Hospital and Johnston-Willis Hospital.
