VCA Merrimac Animal Hospital is hiring a Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician (or LVT-eligible) to join our team!Location: 628 Penniman Road Williamsburg, VA 23185About Us ---We are an AAHA-accredited multi-doctor practice in Williamsburg, VA, offering Primary Care, Illness Care, Surgery, Dentistry, Boarding, and more. We are seeking dependable, adaptable, fun, and detail-oriented team members. Our LVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients. Duties to include:

• Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
• Venipuncture and IVC placement
• Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
• Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
• Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
• Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
• Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
• Surgical preparation and assisting.
• Anesthesia monitoring.
• Dentistry and dental radiographs.
• Maintaining medical records.
• Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients.
• Filling prescriptions.
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
