A Pediatric Physician Adolescent practice is seeking a qualified
physician for Virginia Beach, VA. This and other physician jobs

MD/DO - PediatricianREQUIREMENTS (duties include but are not
limited
to)
a full range of Pediatrician services for pediatric patients
((newborns,
children, adolescents and young adults) on-site in a General
Pediatrics Clinic,
Newborn Care Clinic, Inpatient Pediatric units and Inpatient
Newborn Nursery
using government furnished supplies, facilities and equipment.

a full range of pediatric medicine services [(e.g., clinically
oversee and
provide general screening and medical care and examinations of
adolescents for
routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ
systems;
provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel, developmental
and learning
disabilities (cerebral palsy, mental retardation, birth defects,
ADHD,
emotional problems and adjustments, and child abuse and neglect;
etc.)].
oversee, perform, or assist in the instruction of, other health
care
professionals and pediatric residents seeing children [e.g.,
Pediatric Advanced
Life Support (PALS); diagnostic procedures; and minor surgical
procedures such
as incisions and drainage of abscesses, suture simple lacerations;
etc.].
oversee and teach other medical staff and pediatric residents;
provide
educational lectures and participate in the provision of in-service
training to
clinic staff members.-- Such direction and interaction will adhere
to
government and professional clinical standards and accepted
clinical protocol.
and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and
Therapeutics
Committee.
a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges
granted by the
Commanding Officer.
direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health
care
professionals seeing patients within the scope of their clinical
privileges or
responsibilities.
preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals,
positive
health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and
counseling.
diagnostic tests as applicable.-- Request consultation or referral
with
appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as
indicated.
direct and teach other medical staff, and provide educational
lectures and
participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic
staff
members.-- Such direction and interaction will adhere to government
and
professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.
This
requirement is consistent with the personal services nature of the
contract.
a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals
performing
similar services.
with the standards of The Joint Commission, applicable provisions
of law, and
the rules and regulations of any and all governmental authorities
pertaining to
licensure and regulation of health care personnel and medical
treatment
facilities, the regulations and standards of medical practice and
the MTF---s
medical staff bylaws .-- Adhere to and comply with all Department
of the
Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and local instructions and
notices in
effect during the term of the contract.
in peer review and performance improvement activities.
aseptic techniques as necessary. Comply with infection control
guidelines to
include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious
wastes and the
use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of
infection.
with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
efficiently in emergency patient situations following established
protocols,
remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting
events.
Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate
interventions.
Notify supervisor, director, or other designated person regarding
problems that
the Physician is unable to manage.
an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and
strive to
manage situations in a reduced risk manner.
in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed.
Participation
shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical
examination,
documentation, and reporting.
awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as
identified
within the MTF.
an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own
professional
practice.
in continuing education to meet own professional growth.
and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the
Command, to
include but not limited to online annual training provided by the
MTF: disaster
training, infection control, Sexual Harassment, Bloodborne
Pathogens, Fire and
Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives
(CBRNE), and
all other required training.
participate in the command---s Performance Improvement Program.
Participate in
meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients,
identify
opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend
corrective action
when problems exist.
in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members.--
Provide
training and/or direction as applicable to supporting government
employees
(e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).--
QUALIFICATIONS
be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security
clearance.
possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college
approved by
the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the
American
Medical Association, a Doctorate degree in Osteopathy from a
college accredited
by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification
by the
Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates
(ECFMG).
have successfully completed a residency program which has been
approved by the
Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the
Committee on
Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or
those Canadian
training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of
Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority.
possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license
(corresponding to
the specialty required by the task order) in one of the fifty
states, the
District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the
U.S. Virgin
Islands.
have a minimum of one-year clinical full-time experience within the
preceding 2
years.--Residency will count as clinical
experience.
be Board Certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of
Pediatrics.
have and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
certification
maintain current certification in one of the following: American
Heart
Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or
American Heart
Association Healthcare Provider Course. Certification cards must
display the
American Heart Association or Military Training Network
