• Work on high-profile, complex projects for state and local departments of transportation.
• Perform traffic safety/operations studies, develop Synchro, SimTraffic, TransModeler, VISSIM, and VISUM models.
• Design traffic control devices (signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting), work zone traffic control, ITS, and CAV projects.
• Handle projects ranging from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchange and corridor projects.
• Potential client site work and infrequent travel.Requirements:
  • BSCE degree required, MSCE preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Certified PTOE preferred.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in traffic/ITS engineering.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, and Highway Safety Manual.
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, TransModeler, VISSIM, VISUM.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently and cooperatively.
