Job Title: Senior Product Manager - Remote CasesWhat we are
looking for:The Senior Product Manager is responsible for managing,
growing, and developing a long-term strategic roadmap for the
assigned product portfolio at Dover Food Retail's Hill Phoenix
business unit. He/She is responsible for all aspects of product
life cycle management and to develop, manage, and implement
product/customer and marketing strategies, new product development
programs, value propositions, pricing & commercial launch to
maximize profitable growth for assigned product lines. This role is
also responsible for day-to-day project management of key product
development; sales and complexity reduction initiatives as well as
managing the assigned product line P&L in terms of share &
margin. The role requires strong cross-functional leadership,
business acumen, and interpersonal skills.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the overall market,
including overall size/growth in retail grocery segments, industry
trends/landscape, competition as well as insights and needs of
customers and buying value chain.
- Develop multigenerational Product Line Roadmaps and secure
cross-functional leadership consensus at least yearly.
- Conduct voice of the customer (VOC), primary and secondary
research to facilitate development of product strategies, product
plans, and identification of new products and services
opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional new product development teams.
- Lead all aspects associated with the product definition,
product development, pricing, market introduction, sales tools, and
promotion plans.
- Lead NPD Stage Gate and BCA (Business Case Analysis) processes
to launch new products from concept to full commercialization.
- Identify and lead strategy projects to evaluate and provide
strategic direction for innovative growth opportunities that
leverage technology trends (e.g. connectivity), market trends, and
integrated solutions.
- Working closely with Finance, lead development of the pro forma
with complete financial analysis and sales forecast for all
proposed new products.
- Develop comprehensive product definitions including models,
base configurations and required options enabling guided selling
and portfolio simplification.
- Maintain market focus by regular contact with customers, sales
and marketing. This includes responsibility for conducting
distributor and end user training. Work closely with sales
management to provide forums to interact with customers in
identifying growth opportunities and new product development
ideas.
- Work closely with Marketing in areas of advertising, promotion
marketing campaigns and driving go to market product launch
efforts.
- Collaborate with corporate marketing to develop and deliver
training materials for the assigned products to support training
programs.
- Serve as subject matter expert for assigned products to support
internal team, field sales, distributors and end users.
- Support the marketing communications team to develop
appropriate collateral support for catalogs, launch kits,
competitive alerts, sales communications, instruction sheets, etc.
ensuring a successful commercial launch.
- Provide Sales, Customers and Channel Partners with support,
information and materials to learn about products and
applications.
- Work closely with TAG team to develop/update technical
marketing materials (data sheets, I/O manuals, CAD/Revit assets,
and/or product renderings).
- Provide project management support for major cross-functional
projects as well as product management projects.
- Attend regional and national sales meetings and
conferences.
- Ability to present products via internet conferencing,
in-person meetings, tradeshows or other industry events.Category
Pricing Strategy & Competitive Intelligence (-20%):
- Collaborate with enterprise pricing teams to strategically
position the list pricing and discount levels (including floor
pricing) by customer and product line.
- Collaborate with enterprise pricing group on strategic pricing
initiatives and bids.
- Extrapolate "should cost" for competitive products by using
best available market information/data sources.
- Identify and execute appropriate actions for product lines that
fall below target margins.
- Perform competitive analysis including SWOT, competitive
pricing, features and product breadth comparisons to establish
price/value positioning for assigned portfolio.
- Clearly identify target customers and markets, primary benefit,
and value proposition of the assigned portfolio.Other (-15%):
- Product simplification, core definition & product lifecycle
management of assigned product lines.
- Work with cross functional team to implement AOP initiatives to
enhance profitability of products.
- Support customer requests for product modifications (E#s, BCAs,
etc.).
- One-off analysis as assigned.
- Monthly reporting on key metrics for assigned portfolio.
- Assist with other strategic projects and related duties as
assigned.What are the basic qualifications?
- BS or BA degree required.
- 8 - 10 years of Product Management, Marketing, Strategy,
Engineering, Business Development or related experience.What are
the preferred qualifications?
- MBA strongly preferred.
- Refrigeration & Food Retail industry experience preferred.To be

- Solid experience interacting with both internal and external
customers is required.
- Past Experience in marketing, product management &/or
commercial roles with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Proven skills in product marketing and product life-cycle
management; should be "Advanced" in the preponderance of Product
Management Competencies.

cross-functional teams to success in challenging situations.
- Must work well with others - inspires trust and open
communication amongst team members and peers.
- Proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization
